UNC Asheville graduates, through their foundation in the liberal arts, are teachers with a broad perspective and passion for lending their unique insights to diverse groups of learners. They guide their students in active inquiry to become effective and productive citizens while also maintaining a care-based and empathetic approach.
Education graduates enter teaching positions at varying grade levels in the state, and some pursue graduate education to advance their careers in the field. A majority of graduates teach in Buncombe County, Henderson County, and Asheville City Schools. Over 40 UNC Asheville licensure completers have achieved National Board Certification.
