Welcome to Budget & Finance

The Budget Office supports the University through financial analysis, budget development, and budget execution. We strive to manage University resources proactively and in alignment with the University’s strategic goals, and we are committed to providing quality and timely customer service to the university community in accordance with university, local, state and federal regulations. The Budget Office works closely with University departments as well as the UNC System Office and North Carolina Office of State Budget & Management to develop, execute, and report on the University’s budget.

The Budget & Finance division major areas of responsibility include cash receipts, cash disbursements, student loan collections, payroll, fixed assets accounting, endowment accounting, and purchasing. This area prepares fiscal reports and maintains records for all university departments (including capital improvements, fixed assets, and the UNC Asheville Endowment). University departments currently reporting to the Budget & Finance division include Campus Operations, Human Resources, Information Technology Services, and Space Planning.
