Parking and Transportation Services supports the UNC Asheville community by managing parking permits, campus transportation programs, and mobility resources with a focus on efficiency, accessibility, and safety. Whether you’re arriving by car, public transit, bike, or foot, we provide comprehensive resources to help you access UNC Asheville’s campus smoothly.

Our goal is to provide convenient and reliable transportation solutions for all campus community members.
Parking & Transportation Updates
Temporary changes to transportation availability and services due to construction, maintenance, or special events will be communicated to the campus community through official university listservs by Parking and Transportation Services (transportation@unca.edu).
Road closures or conditions that impact campus safety will be communicated through the Bulldog Alert Emergency Messaging System.
Shuttle Services
Our team of professional shuttle drivers provides safe, reliable transportation for students across campus and to nearby locations during the academic year. Daytime routes operate from 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m., with on-demand after-hours services from 5-9:30 p.m. Students can view current shuttle locations and approximate wait times from their SafeZone App.
Multi-Modal Transportation
At UNC Asheville, we strive to cultivate sustainable, safe, and healthy habits within our community. This includes promoting alternative transportation methods such as carpooling, bicycling, and walking. We offer bike rentals and repair services, along with ride-share resources and easy access to the Asheville Public Transit System’s ART bus routes and walking trails.
The Bike Shop
Located in the Student Recreation Center (SRC) the Bike Shop offers a variety of bike-related resources, including commuter and mountain bike rentals, bike repair, and bike repair education. Bike rentals and repair are available to all UNC Asheville students, faculty, and staff.
Walking Trails
From short and simple to more adventurous off-pavement excursions, the on and off-campus walking trails surrounding UNC Asheville offer a variety of courses to suit your style and fitness goals.

Asheville Rides Transit (ART) Bus Routes
The City of Asheville Public Transit System operates two ART bus routes, N1 and N2, with multiple stops both on and off UNC Asheville’s campus.
Van and Shuttle Reservations
Van and Shuttle Reservations
We currently offer three Express Vans (12 and 15 passenger) for North Carolina state employees to rent for a daily fee and fuel cost through the state Motorpool Rental Program. Our campus shuttles can also be reserved for special events and trips off-campus.
