Shuttle Services
UNC Asheville operates two campus shuttle routes during the academic year (August-May), taking students around campus and to nearby locations. The University also offers an evening shuttle to off-campus locations, including nearby grocery and drug stores.
- Regular campus shuttle routes (blue and red, see below) operate Monday-Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- After Hours Shuttles operate Monday-Thursday, 5 – 9:30 p.m. Contact University Police at 828.232.5000 or utilize the SafeZone App to request a ride after 5 p.m.
Shuttles operate when classes are in session during the fall and spring semesters. This includes exam week and reading days.
Adjusted Hours of Operation
- When there are no regularly scheduled classes taking place, during holidays, or other breaks between semesters, there is no shuttle service.
- There is no shuttle service during the Summer I and Summer II sessions.
- Short service delays are possible 12 – 12:15 p.m. on weekdays during driver shift changes.
Shuttles on a designated route are identifiable by a colored block affixed to the front or side of the vehicle.
Blue Route
Blue Route begins service at The Verge at 7:30 a.m. Monday–Friday. View the Route Map Here.

Shuttle Rentals
Transportation and Parking Services offers campus shuttles for special events and trips off-campus. All motor pool policies apply to shuttle rentals. If you are an outside organization, please contact us at transportation@unca.edu or 828.258.7693.
Please provide at least two weeks’ advance notice when requesting a driver to ensure scheduling.
There are two types of shuttle rates available:

Shuttle Rental Cancellations
A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for all client-initiated cancellations. Otherwise, the rental will be charged at the agreed rate. All shuttle events scheduled during normal campus shuttle operating hours are subject to cancellation without notice.
