Plan Your Event with UNC Asheville
UNC Asheville’s University Events team collaborates with campus partners and event planners to curate a seamless event planning experience and create impactful events. We provide strategic guidance and consultations for campus events, assistance with accessing campus resources for event execution, and oversee processes related to venue management and reservation requests.
University Users
University Users
University Users include faculty and staff from UNC Asheville offices, departments, and divisions. Any university user making a reservation on behalf of their team should submit their request via Web EMS. Whether you’re planning an annual lecture, spearheading a festival, or just looking for space for a team meeting, University Events is here to support you in all phases of your request and planning process.
Don’t have access to Web EMS? Complete the two training modules below, and submit the account request form to gain access.
Registered Student Organizations (RSOs)
Any Registered Student Organizations (RSOs) planning an on-campus event or general body meeting, should begin by submitting an event request through Rocky Connect. University Events works alongside Campus Life to connect RSOs with event planning resources and contacts, including venue managers to assist with reservation logistics, once an event request is approved.
For questions about starting an RSO or how to access Rocky Connect, please contact the Campus Life team.
External Event Requests
External Event Requests
For non-universtiy affiliated event planners seeking high-quality customer service, welcoming spaces, and a stellar location nearby downtown Asheville in the heart of the Blue Ridge Mountains, look no further than UNC Asheville. Begin by submitting an External Event Request. University Events will review your request, identify the perfect venue, and support you in navigating the process for hosting your event at UNC Asheville.
Designated Public Forums
UNC Asheville’s designated public forums, or free speech zones, are:
- Reed Plaza, immediately outside Brown Hall and Highsmith Student Union; and
- The lawn areas on either side of the Ramsey Library steps, bounded by the concrete sidewalk.
Any event requestor (University User, Registered Student Organization, or External Event Requestor) can use these spaces with 24 hours advance notice for activities, assemblies, or demonstrations. Please note that public forum use is limited to the use of the existing space only; additional setup of tables, chairs, or tents is not permitted.
Use of these spaces may not interfere with existing reservations or University operations, and all requestors must adhere to University policy. More information can be found in the Use of University Space policy. To provide advance notice to use either public forum, please email University Events with your desired date, timeframe, event name, and main point of contact information.
