Strategies for Success

As a remote learner, structure doesn’t happen on its own — you have to build it. These habits make a real difference.

1. Set a consistent schedule

Treat remote coursework like in-person time. Block off dedicated hours each week.

2. Create a dedicated workspace

A consistent study space — even a small corner — signals your brain it’s time to focus.

3. Check in with Moodle daily

Log in every day, even briefly. It keeps you connected and prevents missed assignments.

4. Communicate early

If something comes up, reach out to your professor or advisor before it becomes a problem.

5. Take real breaks

Screen fatigue is real. Step away regularly — 25 minutes of focus, then a 5-minute break.

6. Be patient with yourself

Remote learning is a skill. Adjust, iterate, and give yourself grace as you get your footing.
