The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) at UNC Asheville is an award-winning, internationally-acclaimed learning community dedicated to promoting lifelong learning, leadership, community service and research. Our goal is to enable our members to thrive in life’s second half.

OLLI at UNC Asheville offers a comprehensive array of courses in the arts and sciences in addition to programs on civic engagement, wellness, life transitions and retirement planning. Our programming is open to anyone who is seeking personal enrichment and a sense of community.

Volunteering

People stepping into the Reuter Center for the first time often remark on the vibrant energy of OLLI. That spirit comes from active members who power everything from classes, hikes, lectures, and social events to shared interest groups, service projects, and leadership programs. Behind the scenes, more than 400 enthusiastic volunteers work alongside a small staff to shape OLLI’s programs and community. Whether you have an hour to help at an event, want to plan quarterly activities, or hope to use your skills on a committee focused on finances, programming, or strategy, there’s a place for you.
