Dr. Sara Lute is an Assistant Professor of Psychology at the University of North Carolina Asheville. Dr. Lute received her Ph.D. in Adult Development and Aging at the University of Akron in 2024, where she also received her M.A. and B.A. in Psychology. Dr. Lute’s research interests have been older adult development, ageism and stereotype threat. More recently, she has become actively involved in research focused on the barriers and experiences of students within marginalize groups, such as, our gender nonconforming and trans students. She plans to continue this focus and begin research shedding light on the experiences of first-generation students as well. Dr. Sara Lute is passionate about cultivating inclusive and supportive classroom environments. She is dedicated to providing spaces for students of all identities to thrive and allowing everyone’s voices to be heard and respected. It is her plan to continue to support UNC Asheville students for many years to come.
