Erin Marie Wheeler joined the UNCA Department of Business in January 2026 as an Accounting Instructor. Erin Marie’s journey to accounting began when she started working as a cashier for a Pepsi distribution center in rural Virginia. In 2002 she completed her B.B.A. in Accounting from the Davis College of Business and Economics at Radford University. After moving to North Carolina, she enrolled at Western Carolina University and graduated with a Master of Accountancy in 2004. She earned her CPA license in 2014. Erin Marie worked as an accountant and budget analyst at the City of Asheville, interim finance officer for the Town of Montreat, and the institutional accountant at AB-Tech. As an educator, she taught accounting at WCU and AB-Tech. Her primary interests are governmental accounting and data analysis using Microsoft Excel.
