Institutional Facts
Institutional Facts is a series of on-demand web dashboards serving up-to-date information from the University of North Carolina Data Marts. These self-service dashboards are intended to improve upon and replace traditional publications such as the Fact Book. If you have questions or concerns about data published here, please contact irep@unca.edu. If you would like to request a custom dashboard for personal research or for public display, please submit your request via the Data Request Portal.
Administrative Dashboards
The following dashboards are only accessible to UNC Asheville administrators and require a Power BI Pro subscription and authorization from Institutional Research. If you are an administrator and need permanent access to one of the following dashboards, please email irep@unca.edu to request a complementary Power BI Pro license and note the dashboard(s) that you would like access to.

The Common Data Set contains information used by publishers of admissions guides and college rankings publications, including data on general institutional characteristics, enrollment and persistence, undergraduate admissions, academic offerings and policies, student life, annual expenses, financial aid, instructional faculty, class size, and degrees awarded.
The Common Data set is published each December.

The Enrollment at a Glance report provides five-year trends in student enrollment. Report tables disaggregate on demographic, geographic, and academic characteristics of students (including academic major).
This report is published twice annually: (a) in September after tenth day of fall term; and (b) in January after tenth day of spring term.

The Data Request Portal is here to serve your analytic needs. Through this portal, UNC Asheville faculty, staff, and students may submit a request for customized reports, data, or analysis to answer questions about students, faculty, courses, facilities, and other information.
The UNC Data Dashboard is an interactive, online database that tracks key performance indicators at all 17 institutions in the UNC system, including UNC Asheville.
The College Navigator website, maintained by the U.S. Dept. of Education, provides information on American colleges and universities derived from submissions to the Integrated Post-Secondary Educational Data System (IPEDS).
The Program Degree Inventory is a list of UNC Asheville’s available Degree Programs, and includes the type of awarded degree and the CIP code for each Program.
The Public Peers for UNC Asheville is a UNC Board of Governors-approved list of higher education institutions against which UNC Asheville is compared for strategic planning purposes.
