The support and encouragement I received from the faculty at UNCA—especially from the Career Center—gave me the confidence to take initiative during my internship search. Their guidance led me to connect directly with the HR team at System Logistics, even without an official opening. That internship gave me hands-on experience in Human Resources, including participating in employee relief efforts after Hurricane Helene. Today, I’m proud to be working full time as an HR Coordinator at System Logistics Corporation!

My experiences at UNC Asheville—from working as a Research Assistant and volunteering through the VITA program to connecting with alumni—were instrumental in helping me secure a competitive internship with CPI Card Group. There, I applied classroom knowledge to real-world challenges in internal audit and SOX compliance, which not only strengthened my understanding of business processes but also helped clarify my career goals and set me apart in the field.
