The Great Smokies Writing Program hosts free public events each month, including author readings, panels, and other literary events. Writers at Home events are held at Malaprop’s Bookstore and Story Parlor.

NC Writers’ Network Spring Conference
Saturday, April 18 at UNC Greensboro
Drop by our table at NCWN Spring Conference! This year’s keynote speaker is Crystal Simone Smith. Other highlights include “Lunch with an Author” and “Slush Pile Live.” Registration is open through 4pm on April 13.
GSWP Game Night
Thursday, April 23, 6:00-8:00pm at Battery Park Book Exchange
Show off your literary knowledge at a game night hosted by Jacqui Castle of LitLocal! Free to attend, open to all GSWP past and current students and instructors (and guests.) RSVP.

Our program allows writers to join a supportive learning community and to enjoy the mentorship of professional writers. We also host numerous events at UNC Asheville and other venues in the Asheville area, which are open to the public, including readings, craft talks, and panels with writers, editors, and publishing professionals.
