Fab Nights
Fab Nights are informal workshops for current students, faculty, and staff. Regular fab nights are offered throughout each semester to give participants an introduction to studio safety, machines, and materials. These workshops are typically 2-3 hours long and center a specific tool or process. Past projects include welded steel flowers, laser-cut light boxes, laser-etched pint glasses, simple cutting boards, and waterjet-cut book marks. We offer custom classes for specific departments and student organizations. If you are interested in taking a scheduled class, check out our offerings on eventbrite. All classes for current UNCA students, faculty, and staff have a material fee of $10 and require registration since space is limited. Custom classes for academic departments are available by request and will have a small material and machine fee. Email steamstudio@unca.edu to inquire about a custom fab night. (Note: Fab Nights can be during the day too!)
