We’re always looking to tell stories about our campus community’s thought leadership and cutting-edge innovations. Let us know what is happening on and around campus by submitting a news tip through our News Promotion Request Form.

Before You Submit
- You must have approval from your department head or chair prior to requesting publicity.
- The Highsmith Student Union reservations team is the first point of contact for all event spaces across campus.
- Series events should be broken into individual submissions for each occurrence.
- The University Events Calendar typically lists events open to the general public only.

The Weekly Wag - Faculty & Staff Newsletter
The Weekly Wag is UNC Asheville’s faculty and staff newsletter, distributed each Monday. If you would like to include your event or announcement in an upcoming issue, email theweeklywag@unca.edu directly. Submissions are due by the end of the day on Wednesday, the week prior to the Monday you’d like your item to appear.
Deadline:
Wednesday EOD — the week before the Monday issue you’re targeting.

Have a story worth sharing? The C&M team can help you pitch it to campus news channels, regional media, or both. Story ideas may include faculty research, student achievements, awards, grants, community partnerships, or other milestones. Submit your idea, and we’ll follow up to discuss next steps.
What to Include:
- A brief description of the story (2–3 sentences)
- The person or project at the center of the story
- Why it matters to UNC Asheville’s audiences
- Any timing considerations or publication deadlines
