Capture the Moment
The C&M team provides professional photography and videography coverage for University events and projects. Our visual content captures the people, places, and moments that tell the UNC Asheville story — and helps our campus community create compelling materials that reflect the University’s brand.
What Qualifies for Coverage?
The University photographer and videographer focus on high-impact work that furthers UNC Asheville’s brand, strategic priorities, and core values. Additional assignments are accepted depending on schedule availability, with priority given to requests that are outward-facing and help advance the department’s and the University’s mission.
| Events | Ceremonies, lectures, performances, and other significant campus events. Submit your request at least two weeks in advance. |
| Projects | Portraits, department or program photography, campaign assets, and other planned shoots. Contact us early to schedule. |
| Video | Short-form video for web, social, and presentations. Some video requests may fit an ongoing University storytelling series — contact us to discuss. |
Faculty, Staff & Student Portraits
Faculty and staff portrait sessions are scheduled once each semester and announced via email. Student portrait sessions are occasionally available through the Career Center. Watch for announcements or contact communication@unca.edu with questions.

UNC Asheville maintains an online photo library through PhotoShelter, where authorized campus images are archived and made available for University use. Faculty and staff may request access to search and download photos for print publications, websites, presentations, and other official communications. Visit the UNC Asheville PhotoShelter library to browse available images or request access.
Request Coverage
Ready to request coverage? Submit a project request form and include your event or project details, date, location, and intended use for the images or video.
| Lead Time | Photography: Minimum 10 business days’ advance notice; please allow at least 10 business days for delivery of photos to online galleries.
Videography: Minimum 3–4 weeks for planned projects; longer for multi-day or complex productions. |
| Outsourced Requests | In some circumstances — or when the C&M schedule is full — photography or video requests may be outsourced to a freelance professional. In these cases, subsequent costs incurred will be the responsibility of the requesting department or office |
